Creating and Printing Digital Negatives

Prepare contact printing negatives for any photographic process, from platinum, gum, or other alternative processes, to high volume Azo or other modern silver prints.

•  Do all your dodging and burning once, on the computer, and make as many prints as you like from the digital negative. Your digital negative can contain more exotic manipulations: sharpening, selective blurring, solarization, compositing, or panoramic stitching.

•  You can make very large negatives. Make 8x10 or 13x19 negatives on your inkjet printer, even if you only have a 4x5 camera, a 35mm camera, or a digital camera. Don't just dream big, print big! Access to printers capable of 24x36 or even 4 foot by 6 foot negatives is not difficult to obtain.

•  Match the negative perfectly to the paper or process. Go beyond "rules of thumb" such as "a negative that prints fine on number 0 or 1 paper will make a good platinum print". By carefully crafting curves a digital negative will make a platinum print that has any tonality you desire. Go beyond the "Zone System".
